Postdoc hiring at ISTA

Please find our updated Postdoc brochure here.

The Postdoctoral Office (PDO) supports the hiring of Postdocs, and Visiting Scientists with PhD, and the arrangements for incoming Academic Visitors with PhD (for more info please click here). PhD students, Visiting Scientists and Academic Visitors without a PhD are handled by the Graduate School Office (GSO). The PDO also takes care of contract extensions for the above-mentioned scientists and coordinates IST-BRIDGE, ISTA-FELLOW and NOMIS fellowship programs. In addition, please approach the PDO with requests to advertise open Postdoc positions on the ISTA website and the Euraxess portal.

We promote a diverse and inclusive working environment and are committed to the principle of equal employment opportunity for all applicants, free of discrimination. All employment decisions at ISTA are based on job requirements, qualifications, merit and organizational needs. We strongly encourage individuals from underrepresented groups to apply.

The PDO should be informed at least 2 months before the arrival of a new scientist or end of the current contract in order to have enough time for the necessary administrative steps involving Academic Affairs, Human Resources and Finance. No official offer should be made before discussing with Academic Affairs.

To initiate the hiring or arrival of a new scientist, the host professor (or their A2P) should provide the incoming scientist with the link to this online form that the scientist should fill out and send to the PDO. The PDO will then reach out to the host professor. Both forms must be sent at least 2 months before the arrival of the scientist. Please note that all information, both forms and all required documents, must to be provided before the PDO can start processing the case.
