Non-Academic Internship Programs

ISTA is welcome to provide a selection of non-Academic Internship programs that allow postdoctoral researchers to explore career opportunities outside Academia.

LBG Career Center: Expert Internship Program

To bridge the gap between academia and other sectors, the LBG Expert Internship Program allows you to participate in a two-month, funded internship in a host organization of your choice.

You’ll have the opportunity to gain practical experience outside academia, get to know potential employers, and explore new working areas.

The Expert Internship Program is for Pre- and Post-Docs of Ludwig Boltzmann Institutes as well as universities and research organizations in Austria.

If you are interested in this program, please contact the ISTA career development officer and see further details on the program website

InnoNext Initiative

Promoted by EIC and EIT, InnoNext concretizes multidisciplinary collaboration among qualified researchers, start-ups and SMEs through “Innovation internships”. If you are currently employed as a PhD or postdoctoral researcher on an ERC grant, you may be eligible to apply for a 3-month internship at a start-up or SME, facilitated by the InnoNext initiative.
